January 2019 Empties

Annnnd here we are. At another end of the month empties, and I actually have quite a lot this month! I have a bad tendency to hoard product, whether it’s skincare or makeup and as many of you know, I’ve been trying to focus on using up products to prevent them from going bad and also just to enjoy the process of using products I love. Plus, I want to give myself the opportunity to not just to feel the victorious feeling of getting through a product, but also be able to buy something I’ve had my eye on for a looong time. Since I’m on a low-buy, you can follow me on Instagram @worthitbeautyblog if you’re interested in how I’m doing!

  1. CAUDALIE Vinoperfect Radiance Serum

This has served me well over a year, and has been go-to serum when I want to give my skin a break from actives. This brightens my skin and is intensely hydrating, which I love! I have another backup so that just goes to show how much I love this.

  2. KOPARI Cleansing Oil

This shouldn’t be a surprise! It’s my favorite cleansing oil at the moment because it emulsifies so well it never leaves an oily residue behind. I always double cleanse, so it doesn’t matter anyway, but I just really appreciate the fact it removes makeup but also emulsifies well. I have a full review here.

  3. Ordinary The Buffet

I used this up simply to use it up. I mean, it’s affordable and hydrating, but other than that, I don’t know if it did anything else for the skin. It wasn’t impressive and last year, I sort of lost interest and stopped using it. Glad it’s empty finally.

  4. Cosrx Low pH Cleanser

This also should be no surprise to you. This used to be my absolute favorite cleanser (and don’t get me wrong, it’s still SO good) but the YTTP Superfood Cleanser has overshadowed this one. I’ll still repurchase this in the future though because it’s so affordable and gets the job done well without stripping!

  5. Epionce Purifying Wash

This huge bottle is a face and body wash in one. I received this from Poshly for free, and while it is a whopping 8 oz, it still isn’t worth the $42 price tag in my opinion. It’s a gel formula that’s supposed to combat acne, and has a nice minty scent, but I don’t know. It’s a fine product, but I don’t think it’s that effective.

  6. Mizon All In One Snail Repair Cream (Travel)

Actually, this is my husband’s empty. And thank goodness because this did NOTHING for my skin. No hydration, nothing. And I think that’s partially why my husband likes it so much, because it’s so lightweight that it doesn’t feel like anything! I’m bewildered that this is such a favorite among many Kbeauty lovers but I’d opt for other brands of snail-containing creams that are more hydrating than this one.

  7. AYR Virgin Marula Oil

It’s about time I finished this one. Marula has helped protect and provide intense moisture when my skin was irritated, itchy, and inflamed. So it’s been by my side ever since that incident. However, my skin doesn’t react often, so most of 2018 I’ve been reaching for drier oils (like the Huxley oil or Squalane oil) since I lean more combo-oily. This would be a superb product for dry skin types though.

  8. Ritual Foaming Shower Gel (sample)

I got this as a free sample through the mail. No one really talks about Ritual much, but they do have very unique scents. This was fun to use and the foam goes a long way, but the scent is a bit strong for me, so after using this up, I won’t be picking up the full size.

  9. Fresh Rose Face Mask

Pretty sure I got this as a free perk for my birthday some years ago. I decided to just finish this up since it’s been so long, and it’s a nice, hydrating mask that contains real rose petals suspended in the gel-like formula. Smells nice, hydrates, and tones the skin. I find that Fresh does wash-off masks so well and I’m dying to try more from them when I get the excuse to!
